Judges Lodgings, Lancaster

A Grade I listed C17 townhouse once owned by Thomas Covell, Keeper of Lancaster Castle, and adapted in the C19 to provide accommodation for His Majesty’s Judges of the Assizes, Judges’ Lodgings is one of the landmark structures in Lancaster Conservation Area and now houses a museum. FVP was appointed in 2012 to provide a conservation management plan for the building, which is owned by Lancashire County Council. The plan included a research based statement of significance, assessment of conservation related issues, and a framework for conservation management, as well as room by room data sheets.
